Filipino Independence Fair

I figured it would be interesting to go to clebrate the filipino's independence from the spanish. The priest giving a talk at the beginning made some good points, one that really stuck in my head was along the lines of 'if you don't do things the way you see fit, you're simply a puppet being controlled by someone else'. The whole speech was centred around freedom [for obvious reasons] and it made me look at my own life and see if I really am free, and it got me thinking, the reason I act the way I do is because it conforms to most common behavior in our society. Now what got me really wondering is if I'm doing that because I am being controlled by the social norms, they are the puppeteers of my mind, which in turn, manipulates my physical being. It made me uneasy thinking that everything I do everyday is a result of centuries of oppression, but the more I think about it- it helps order, without order we are free to do whatever we wish. But on the other side of the coin, without order there is only chaos. Chaos is the catalyst in mans evolution, if we are content and free from chaos and destruction our bodies stay the same- the survival instinct fades away.

I guess I'm just rambling now, and maybe some people agree with me, but maybe we are due for a reign of chaos over the lands. Those of you who are believers of the Mayan prophecies, this 'ascension of man' in 2012 might just be the ticket to a more evolved life.

High Voltage Tattoo, West Hollywood

I know for a fact I'll be visiting West Hollywood more often, I saw alot of street art that I want to share with you guys and also theres some cool looking shops around there.
My main point though; being in the close proximity of high voltage just makes me feel so good, if I win the lotto this friday I'm going to get some work done there for sure- wish me luck- I am dyingggg to get tattooed by Kat, like they say over here- go big or go home, and in my books a tattoo from Kat is pretty big.

Griffith Observatory

It was really interesting going around and seeing this place, unfortunately the autobots weren't gather atop it this time.












These are some images I felt were particularly interesting, the religious tones of the ceiling art intrigued me with the combination of such imagery in a bulding of science.







Also, these kinda had a Bioshock theme so I like them :)

Downtown LA

We set off to go to the MoCa today [museum of contemporary art]- I had a good feeling I'd like it there when I saw the sculpture made of old plane parts outside the front of it;


I was mega disappointed to find out that it's closed on tuesdays and wednesdays :( so we then decided today we would go round beverly hills and see the houses we want [I bought two lottos tickets and I'm feeling lucky haha] after that we went to the Griffiths Observatory. We stayed there til it got dark so I could take some shots of the LA basin at night and hopefully I'll be able to make a good panoramic once I get back on to photoshop. So yeah anyway, we went back to the parking and set off, I also saw a lady who was like in love with the sign [ see below].

Nazi Zombies [Naz Zombs]

For those of you familiar with Call of Duty: World at War, you'll recognise this game mode. It was new to me when I came over here and I can say it's such a satisfying feeling, pumping undead nazis full of lead and in some cases deadly ray gun rays. Hitler's army can suck it.

Fashion District

Ok so today was a busy day- firstly we took a trip to the fashion district in downtown LA. It was good if you want cheap clothes [stolen or knock off], I didn't personally see anything that took my fancy, I liked the stalls selling prayer bead type things, that was cool. I also saw my first gang member today- a member of the 18th street gang, originating from el Salvador I believe, he was a mean looking dude. The big '18' tattoo he had was a big give away.
